Commissioned to design a public cafe area on the site of the existing office and storage building at this busy garden centre, The Olive Tree opened in August 2009 and has proved extremely popular with visitors. The brief called for a light and airy space – the preparation and ancillary accommodation were placed to the rear with the main cafe being open to the underside of the roof and the glazed feature truss and the fully glazed main elevation take full advantage of the views across the valley
